Computer Skill Test & Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
A CPT checks whether a candidate can complete practical office work accurately—not merely answer computer-awareness questions. Requirements differ by recruitment, so always confirm the official notice for your post.

What can be asked in a CPT or computer skill test?
The practical modules and marking rules vary by exam.
Microsoft Excel
Data entry, formulas, functions, cell formatting, sorting, filtering, tables, charts, worksheets and print settings.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Creating and arranging slides, themes, text, images, tables, charts, transitions and presentation formatting.
Email and Internet
Writing professional email, using To/CC/BCC, attaching files, organising messages and completing common browser-based tasks.
Google Workspace
Some tests or workplace assessments may include Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, collaboration, sharing and cloud-file organisation.
Typing and accuracy
Some recruitments combine office-software work with English or Hindi typing, formatting or data-entry requirements.
CPT is not identical in every government exam
One recruitment may ask only Word, Excel and PowerPoint; another may add typing, email, internet or document-formatting work. Check the latest official notification, duration, software version, marks and qualifying rules before practising.
