TypingTestExamThis Privacy Policy explains how Nishant eAcademy, operator of TypingTestExam.com (the "Site"), collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our free typing practice, exam-wise typing tests, verified certificate, or TypingTestExam Pro membership (together, the "Services"). By using the Site, you consent to the practices described here.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to information collected through the Site, its login/registration system, and related communication channels such as WhatsApp and email support. It does not cover third-party sites we link to (for example the Google Play Store, or nishanteacademy.com / nishanteacademy.in), which have their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address and/or mobile number, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form), provided when you register or log in.
- Test & usage data: the exam preset or language you practise, your typing speed (WPM), accuracy, error count, test duration, and timestamps — used to show your results and, for eligible tests, to generate a certificate.
- Certificate data: the name you enter for your certificate, your qualifying result, and a certificate ID/QR code generated to help verify authenticity.
- Payment-related data: transaction ID, payment status, amount and plan/certificate purchased. We do not collect or store your full card number, CVV, or UPI PIN — these are handled directly by our third-party payment gateway.
- Device & usage information: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location (derived from IP), collected automatically via cookies and analytics tools.
- Communications: messages you send us via WhatsApp, email, or contact forms, including any information you choose to share in them.
How we use your information
- To provide the Services — running your typing test, calculating your result, and issuing a certificate you've paid for.
- To create and maintain your account, dashboard, and (for Pro members) leaderboard/rank status.
- To process payments and send you confirmations, receipts, or renewal reminders where applicable.
- To respond to support requests and communicate important updates about the Services.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms and Conditions.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the Site's content, exam presets and performance.
- To send optional promotional messages about typing courses or new features — you can opt out at any time (see Section 8).
Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) to keep you logged in, remember your practice preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site through analytics tools. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features — such as staying logged in or resuming a saved test — may not work correctly without them.
Payment information
All certificate and Pro subscription payments are processed by a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateway. When you pay, your card/UPI/net-banking details are transmitted directly to the gateway over an encrypted connection; we receive only the payment status and a transaction reference, not your full payment credentials.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site — for example, hosting providers, the payment gateway, and analytics providers — bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal authorities, where required to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of TypingTestExam.com, our users, or the public.
- Successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy (or a materially similar one) continuing to apply.
Data retention
We retain account, test-result and certificate data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, to comply with legal, accounting, dispute-resolution and fraud- prevention obligations. Payment records are retained as required under applicable Indian tax and financial-record-keeping laws.
Your rights & choices
You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent for optional communications, by writing to us via our Contact Us page. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to any information we are legally required to retain (for example, payment and certificate records needed for tax or dispute purposes).
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for typing/exam practice and is generally used by teenagers and adults preparing for competitive exams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without consent, please contact us so we can remove it.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password hashing, and restricted internal access — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly, and we encourage you to review it periodically.
