A generic typing test tells you your speed. A government exam typing test tells you whether you would pass — because it applies the same rules the real exam uses: the required WPM, the error tolerance, whether backspace is allowed, whether the passage is on paper or screen, and how mistakes are penalised.
Different exams have very different standards. SSC CGL's DEST is 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes. RRB NTPC needs 30 WPM English or 25 Hindi. Courts often disable backspace and hide error highlighting. Practising on the wrong standard builds the wrong habits — so pick your exact exam above.
English and Hindi
Most exams offer both languages. For Hindi posts, practise Devanagari (Mangal/Inscript) specifically — the key positions are completely different from English.
