The AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) fills Group B and C posts across AIIMS Delhi and regional AIIMS institutes — including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Upper Division Clerk (UDC), Junior/Senior Administrative Assistant (JAA/SAA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO). These posts require a qualifying typing skill test after the computer-based exam.
Typing standards by post
Post
Requirement
LDC / JAA / UDC / SAA
35 WPM English or 30 WPM Hindi (15-minute test)
Data Entry Operator (DEO)
8,000 key depressions per hour (≈ 26.67 WPM), English only
Language and font
Candidates may type in English or Hindi (DEO is English only). For Hindi, the Mangal font with the Inscript keyboard layout is generally used, though some AIIMS centres prefer Kruti Dev 010. Always confirm the font from your admit-card instructions.
How to prepare
Build English to 40+ WPM so 35 WPM holds under exam pressure.
DEO aspirants: focus on data-entry accuracy at 8000 KDPH.
Hindi candidates: confirm and drill your layout (Mangal Inscript or KrutiDev 010).
Practise full-length (15-minute) passages for stamina.
