The 2026 notification announced 125 vacancies, with applications from 16 June to 15 July 2026.
Eligibility and typing requirement
Candidates must have passed Class 12, hold a one-year certificate course in Data Preparation and Computer Software (or equivalent), and possess a typing speed of 8000 key depressions per hour (KDPH) — equivalent to about 26.67 WPM in either English or Hindi, for data-entry work.
Selection process
Selection is based on a computer-based test plus a skill/aptitude test (as per post), followed by document verification. Candidates must qualify the prescribed aptitude/skill test — the typing/data-entry requirement is part of being eligible.
DSSSB typing: what to expect
DSSSB's computer typing tests generally run with no live error highlighting (blind mode) and use the standard government net-WPM formula similar to SSC. For Hindi posts, DSSSB commonly uses the Mangal font with the Inscript layout. Note that other DSSSB posts (JSA/LDC) require 35 WPM English / 30 WPM Hindi — but the IT Assistant data-entry standard is 8000 KDPH (~26.67 WPM), so prepare to the standard stated for your specific post.
How to prepare
- Reach a steady 30+ WPM so the ~26.67 WPM data-entry bar is comfortable.
- Prioritise accuracy — data entry punishes errors.
- Practise blind (without looking for error highlights), since DSSSB hides them.
- Hindi candidates: drill the Mangal/Inscript layout.
- Confirm the exact post-wise standard from the official DSSSB notification (Advt 03/2026).
