How the scoring works

Your custom test uses the same scoring as every exam on this site, so your results are directly comparable:

Gross WPM = (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes
Net WPM = gross speed minus your errors
Accuracy = correct keystrokes ÷ total keystrokes × 100

You can turn highlighting off to practise "blind" like some real exams, and disable backspace to match exams that lock it. This makes the custom test useful not just for fun practice, but for rehearsing a specific exam passage under real conditions.

How do I create my own typing test?

Paste or type any text into the box, choose your language, duration, and whether backspace and highlighting are on, then click Start. You'll type your own passage and get full WPM and accuracy results.

Can I paste Hindi text?

Yes. Choose Hindi as the language and paste Devanagari text. The test works exactly like our Hindi typing test, on your own content.

Is there a limit on the text length?

No strict limit. If your text is shorter than the time allows, you'll simply finish early. For a full timed test, paste a longer passage.

Can I get a certificate for a custom test?

Yes. After finishing, you can download a certificate with your speed, accuracy and result, just like any other test on this site.

Why would I create my own typing test?

To practise on a specific passage — for example a real past exam passage, a paragraph your coaching gave you, or content in your own language and style.
