Dictation and transcription
Candidates take a five-minute English dictation at 60 WPM, producing a 300-word passage, and transcribe it on a computer within 30 minutes.
Full and half mistakes
An omitted, substituted or added word or figure is a full mistake. Specified spelling, singular/plural and sentence-capitalisation errors count as half mistakes.
Qualifying status
The stenography and Computer Literacy Test stages are qualifying. The maximum transcription error is 10% for UR and 12% for applicable reserved categories.
