What this typing test measures

This is the Global practice mode: no exam profile, no candidate-details form — just a passage, a timer and a result. Pick a duration from 1 to 30 minutes, a language, and a difficulty level, then type. At the end you get gross WPM, net WPM, accuracy and a mistake-by-mistake review of exactly where the passage and your typed text diverged.

Use this mode for general practice or a quick speed check. If you're preparing for a specific recruitment exam and want its actual duration, layout and scoring rules, switch to Government Exam Practice instead — the passage and rules there follow the exam profile you select, not a generic default.

Getting a reliable result

A single test tells you today's number; several tests across different times of day tell you your real range. Short sessions (1–5 minutes) are good for a quick check or warm-up; longer sessions (10–15 minutes) are closer to what most exams actually require, since fatigue and concentration affect accuracy more over a longer passage than a short one.
